Race in Boston Public Schools

Share This:

On June 11th, conversations began at Greater Love Tabernacle about how race plays a role in the education of inner city students. That conversation continued on June 29th at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. The meeting was co-hosted by BEJA member organizations, the Boston chapter of NAACP and the Black Educators' Alliance of Massachusetts, and attended by students, parents, concerned citizens, clergy, lawyer groups, school committee members and education justice organizations like Mass Advocates for Children.

The group broke out into 3 discussion groups:
* Diversity issues with students in exam schools
* Teacher diversity throughout the district
* Racial Climate in Schools

Here the results of the discussions here.
